"I bought this guide as I have never been to South Korea before. With Seoul being on my travel list as I am arriving at Incheon, it would have been nice to have some information as to where Seoul and Incheon are in respect to the rest of the country. The title of the book is literally correct, sicne it covers the south of Korea, but is somewhat misleading, as in a lot of parts of the world South Korea is understood to be the Country.

There is no overall map of Korea in this book. THere must be better ones around." Before exchanging a Alternative Vacation Cottage in South Korea, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in South Korea.

With all the talk of Asian and Korean miracles, it's good to see a book that actually takes a closer look and exposes some of the darker side. Korea has done a phenomenonal job, but it should be remembered that a lot of it was due to almost inhumane working hours, and brutal repression of labour. For that reason, I think pundits are a bit off when they talk about applying the Korean development model to other developing countries.
