| Single in Saudi (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"I absolutely loved the book. I had trouble putting it down, but unfortunately did and left it on the airplane. Once I got home, I had to purchase another copy b/c I HAD to finish it. I love that Genia is such an adventurous free spirit. It definitely made the book very exciting. Although I am against drug-use, I don't judge her for it. I just love the fact that she lives her life to the fullest. I wish I had the guts that she does." This book has supper information on Saudi Arabia, well worth reading if you exchanging a Alternative Vacation Property in Saudi Arabia. "As an RN myself, I really enjoyed reading about Genia's experience in Saudi Arabia. As I read I could experience the excitement she encountered and could not put this book down. I was very impressed with this book and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially independent females." www.HomeIsAway.com great Alternative Holiday Villa to Exchange in Saudi Arabia. "Just finished reading Single in Saudi by Genia. What an adventure! Genia certainly was bold and fun loving. She also had quite a struggle maintaining her femininism in the leading land of chauvinistic men, but she handled it quite well.I loved her insights into the culture, the people she met and described and all of her travels. She lived a life most of us can only dream of-so if you want to escape into another world for awhile- READ THIS BOOK!" A wealth of information about Saudi Arabia, a great book if you are thinking about exchanging a Vacation Vacation property in Saudi Arabia. "A rollicking story of a young , single American nurse working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She broke all of the rules in the country to live what she considered a normal life. She partied with royalty, ate in humble Arab homes and had some amazing adventures and misadventures. An informing, timely and intimate story many readers will find fascinating." "My husband and I are going to move to Kuwait soon for work and we needed as much information as possible on living conditions there. This book has best information about Saudi Arabia. So take it with you when you Exchange a Vocation or Holiday Casa in Saudi Arabia. "This book is an excellent source of information for anyone even thinking of visiting or working in one of the Gulf States. It details everything from getting a visa to what sort of nightlife you can expect. Most helpful is the inclusion of a series of first-hand experiences of brave souls who have worked in the area, some for a number of years. Also gives useful websites, phone numbers etc." Why not buy this book, and read while on your Vacation in Saudi Arabia. It would be so usefull when you Exchange a Vacation Casa in Saudi Arabia. |

| Desert Governess: An Inside View on the Saudi Arabian Royal Family (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"If you want to read about Saudi Arabia, then this book is not for you. It is a story about an Englishwoman who goes to S.A. to make a living as a governess. It is not especially intersting or well written, sadly lacking in descriptions of both the country and the palace. Don't expect another "Priness"!!" Before exchanging a Vacation Apartment in Saudi Arabia, I would read this book. "Unfortunately, this writer needed an editor, BADLY. As someone one lived in Saudi Arabia for 17 years, I wished for this writer to really describe the country and the people well. If you're a person truly interested in the lives of women in Saudi Arabia, then I suggest you buy the Princess books by Jean Sasson. I don't make this suggestion lightly. I lived there and I KNOW the lives women live and it was wonderful to read books that were not only exceptionally well written but gave vivid and accurate descriptions of Saudi Arabia and the women who live behind the veil--both royal and non-royal... I'm sorry this particular book didn't reach further... It's a great subject for the time..." A wealth of information about Saudi Arabia, a great book if you are thinking about exchanging a Alternative Holiday Alternative Holiday property in Saudi Arabia. "As a single woman who also worked in Saudi Arabia, I found her book a little too stiff, but then I realize she was living within the confines of a royal family compound and not out in the general public often. For a lighthearted intimate view of Saudi Arabia from an enlightened single American womans perspective, I also recommend 'SINGLE IN SAUDI' by GENIA." Before exchanging a Holiday Property in Saudi Arabia, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in Saudi Arabia. "An interesting account of life within the palace walls of Saudi Arabia. However, having lived in the Middle East for a number of years, and having visited Saudi Arabia, I felt that while describing the frustrations of the closeted life, the author is holding back on some of the seedier details of womens' life behind the veil. Readers should try Jean Sasson's books, of which 'Princess' is the first, and then attempt to reconcile the two very different accounts. I'd certainly be interested in people's comments." This book has great information on Saudi Arabia, well worth reading if you exchanging a Vacation Apartment in Saudi Arabia. "I was really looking forward to reading this book. I have always been fascinated with the Middle East, and in view of the privileged vantage point of the author - who spent about a year working as governess for the young Saudi Prince and Princess - I really thought this could well be a great read. But I was wrong. Promising as the premises are, the writer is simply not up to the job. The superficiality of many commets made me cringe, and some of her remarks so arrogant! I ended up really disliking the author by the end of the book. I kept going, hoping the book would get better, but - unbelievably! - it actually does get worse, and it touches rock-bottom when the author decides to plunge into poetry... Terrible, believe me, this bookis just terrible!!!!!!" www.HomeIsAway.com great Alternative Vacation Villa to Exchange in Saudi Arabia. |

| Living and Working in Saudi Arabia: Your Guide to a Successful Short or Long-term Stay (How to S.) (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"Having worked in Saudi Arabia for four years, the first thing that comes to mind is how two WOMEN wrote a book about working in Saudi. Yes, there are thousands of nurses and, usually, healthcare workers in KSA that are women, but when you consider the lifestyle they live in that unspeakably chauvanistic country, it begs the imagination why such a title wasn't written by two men instead. Seriously, what would you think if you saw a book titled "The Ten Most Beautiful Christian Churches of Northern England" by Mahmoud Al-Farsi and Abdullah Al-Dossary?!" www.HomeIsAway.com great Alternative Holiday House to Exchange in Saudi Arabia. |

| An A-Z of Places and Things Saudi (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"This is a very useful guide for the soon-to-be visitor or new resident to the Saudi Arabian peninsula. Not only are the major towns and cities described with emphasis on the markets and historical points of view, but also described are the fauna and flora of the areas. Falconry, clothing, customs and history are also discussed in the dictionary formatted book. Entries range from one paragraph to a page or more, but are concise and to the point. One glaring omission is the lack of a map. Later editions should correct this problem. Overall, for those moving to the area, they will presumably have their own maps. What were they thinking for not including a map? Still, for those travelilng to the area, it would be a general guide, not enough detail - no restaurants, hotels, airports, transportation information - but excellent for the armchair traveler. If you want a book with information on the historical and major features of all the major towns of the country, this will be a good start." Before exchanging a Vacation Villa in Saudi Arabia, I would read this book. |

| Princess: True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"This is a truly fabulous book, I was touched, shocked, saddened and enraged in turn. The bravery of 'Sultana' is inspiring. The writing is very good and I was really pleased with the amount I learnt about women in Saudi Arabia and their society in general. I thouroughly recommend this book!" A wealth of information about Saudi Arabia, a great book if you are thinking about exchanging a Vacation Vacation property in Saudi Arabia. "I really did not have a clue what i was going to read, but once I started reading this book of life behind the veil of Saudi women, I could not put it down. It is heart wrenching in parts; Has a touch of humour, despite the suffering; It is very defiant and is certainly eye opening in a way that we western women could not even imagine, the suffering and iniquities against these women of Saudi Arabia. I fully recommend the follow up book, Daughters of Arabia by Jean P Sasoon. Once you begin reading these books, you will not want to put them down or ever forget their contents." Before exchanging a Alternative Vacation Cottage in Saudi Arabia, I would read this book while in Saudi Arabia. "This book claims to be the true story of a Saudi princess and her lifestyle. If it is true then it is a harrowing indictment of an inhuman attitude towards Saudi women. Particularly disturbing is the account given of the poor girl murdered by her father, in front of all her family, for bringing 'shame' on them. The lack of freedom these women have is, to western eyes at least, appalling and incomprehensible. Saudi women of royal birth appear to live in perfumed, pampering prisons. However, if this is a true story then the husband or family of this woman would certainly recognise the stories and identify her with ease which made me wonder how much of it was fantasy or at least greatly exaggerated for the benefit of readers. An interesting read but I felt more that I was reading a novel than a factual account." Before exchanging a Holiday Property in Saudi Arabia, I would read this book. |

| Sleeping with the Devil: How Washington Sold Our Soul for Saudi Crude (Book)Customer Rating: According to Robert Baer, the center of the global economy is a "kingdom built on thievery, one that nurtures terrorism, destroys any possibility of a middle class based on property rights, and promotes slavery and prostitution." This kingdom also sits on one quarter of the world's oil reserves, thus ensuring that it receives the full support and protection of the U.S. government. Sleeping With the Devil details the hypocritical and corrupt relationship between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia and the potentially calamitous economic consequences of maintaining this Faustian bargain. As Baer makes clear, the U.S. has been aware of problems within the bitterly divided Al Sa'ud family for years, but has ignored the facts in order to keep lucrative business deals afloat. (The amount of money the royal family spends to influence powerful American politicians and lobbyists is staggering.) Particularly damning are his details regarding Saudi Arabia's support of militant Islamic groups, including al Qaeda. The ruling family funnels millions of dollars to such groups in order to dissuade them from overthrowing the monarchy--a protection scheme that is shaky at best, given the hatred most citizens feel for the ruling family. To prevent economic disaster that could come from either a local uprising or an interruption in the flow of oil due to terrorism, Baer raises the possibility of the U.S. seizing the Saudi oil fields and forcing a regime change on its own terms: "An invasion and a revolution might be the only things that can save the industrial West from a prolonged, wrenching depression," he warns. Baer spent 21 years with the CIA, much of it in the Middle East, so he is an informed guide to this complex subject. His alarming book deserves to be read for raising many important and troubling questions. --Shawn Carkonen Reviews:
"Talk about mixed emotions. Reagan did bring down the Soviet Union with Saudi help. But, the Saudis wanted all the US court cases against them fixed. Nearly all were, except for Scott Nelson which you can find on a Search. Read my 3 page article "Fixing A Court Case" found at www.fixingacourtcase.com and you will see additional corroboration that Robert Baer is speaking the God's truth about Saudi influence." I couldn't believe what I was reading. It took me a while to get over the emotions I was experiencing." This book has supper information on Saudi Arabia, well worth reading if you exchanging a Vacation Property in Saudi Arabia. "A scathing indictment of every presidential adminstration's self-delusions about the most decadent and corrupt regime in the world. But: it seems poorly organized, unfocused, and fixated with minor players." Before exchanging a Holiday Cottage in Saudi Arabia, I would read this book. "a must read for anyone interested in current geopolitics, I was not aware of the corruption of the Saudi Regime and the resulting instability of the biggest oil supplier to the world. Read it and become afraid of what might be ahead for the world...." This book has best information about Saudi Arabia.
