"I aquired this book just prior to a trip to the Caymans. The general information about the islands was thorough and very helpful. The details about each island - people, geography,accomadations, dive sites, etc. assisted me in making a decision on which island to visit. I ended up in Little Cayman where the diving was spectacular! We also enjoyed a day of diving on Cayman Brac. I had the book on our dive boat and I have to say it was thoroughly enjoyed by many divers. Some would reference the dive site before we reached it and others enjoyed reading the reviews after taking the plunge. All the dive site info was thorough and accurate. The photographs are excellent. I would highly recommend this book to anyone planning a trip to the Caymans or anyone who enjoys beautiful underwater photos." "The guide not only contains useful information - lists, prices, phone numbers - but is also very readable, giving the reader an interesting insight into the islands, their history and more importantly the people. There are comprehensive lists for everything - hotels, restarants, car hire, dive and snorkel shops, beaches and more. I found the maps and directions accurate, and there are also some beautiful photos. Whether you're going for a break, a honeymoon or a serious diving holiday I'd reccomend this book." "As guidebooks go, this one has it all – detailed background to the three islands that make up the Caymans (Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac), details of all the sites to see (there aren’t that many), useful tips for travel and accomodation and lots of information about snorkelling, something the Caymans is renowned for.

There isn’t a great deal of competition to this book as far as I can tell; there’s not a great deal of books about the Caymans, but this tells you everything you need and leaves you with no nasty surprises. The restaurant recommendations are quite extensive (actually I’m sure there’s more described in the book than actually exist on the island but these are things that do rapidly change anyway).

"The book is O.K. if you just want to know about the Caymans, but if you're planning a trip, it's weak on practical information. There are no names or phone numbers for any rental car company, hotel, condo, or restaurant, but many pages of organizations (with phone numbers) such as the Cayman Islands Dominoes Association (yes really). If you are able to find a car rental company there is a chapter on exploring the island, and if not there are chapters on hiking, running, bicycling, horseback riding, kayaking, and swimming" Before exchanging a Alternative Vacation House in Cayman Islands, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in Cayman Islands.
