To enjoy this slow paced property, you will need transportation and be fit enough to cope with the stairs, of which there are about 70 from the parking area up to the villa, however, once you have reached it, the view will make it all worth while

2 Bedroomed Ground Floor Apartment renovated to a high standard from an old traditional Valencia townhouse in a quiet cul-de-sac in the historic and Moorish part of Palma de Gandia. The historic area is full of winding narrow streets and passages that criss cross with small squares.       The town nestles under the Safor mountains almost surrounded by orange groves that stretch down to the Mediterranean 8 kms away. This is not a tourist town but a Spanish working town where you can experience the "real Spain" so bring your Spanish phrase book!    Palma has shops for basic shopping and plenty of bars/cafes and a couple of restaurants. Gandia is only 10 minutes away and there is a hypermarket and shops and in the city itself the historic area is traffic free to enable you to wander through the old paved streets. Here you will find the Cathdral and the Borgia Palace.      Just 8km is the town of Oliva where the Arab quarter is dominated by the ruined castle of Santa Ana from where you can get a splendid view of the coastline.       For days out there is the medieval and historic towns of Bocairente and Xativa (where there is a splendid castle) and Cullera. We recommend a day out to Elche where there are Roman remains and the ancient palm forest as well as other interesting historic buildings and the town of Peniscola (where El Cid was filmed) and Sagunto with its well preserved amphistheatre.      Both Oliva and Gandia have street markets and a tree lined paseo where you can sip your sangria and people watch.      If you would like to visit a beach, there are over 17km of white sandy beaches, some awarded the Blue Flag. Gandia is a busy long beach with full beach facilities and sports and there are rustic beaches backed by sand dunes and tamerisk trees. International Airports are approx 80 miles to Alicante and 40 to Valencia, although Barcelona is approx 4-5 hrs via the toll road. 8 kilometers to the railway station in Gandia.   The Valencia in Spain, Iberian,Spanish,Med is best explored using a car, especially when driving through Gandia, Palma de Gandia
