| Scotland the Best! (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"This book gathers together what is best about Scotland. As a Scot living in Scotland, I use this book all the time when traveling in my own country. I especially like the fact that some of the places I consider to be the best in my home area are included within its covers. It's not "Scotland the Most Expensive", It's not "Scotland the Twee-est", It's exactly what it says on the cover. This book has never let me down." A wealth of information about Scotland, a great book if you are thinking about renting a Vacation Vacation property in Scotland. "We just returned from Scotland having based most of our travel decisions on this book. The author was dead on in every instance. We found some of the most wonderful and out -of -the-way places with his help. I highly recommend purchasing any travel book by this author and will do so again." This book has fantastic information about Scotland. So take it with you when you Rent a Vacation Villa in Scotland. "This witty, interesting and comprehensive guide is simply packed with information and recommendations concerning what to do and see in Scotland as well as where to stay and eat along the way. Much of the information is provided in lists of" Why not buy this book, and read while on your Vacation in Scotland. It would be so usefull when you Rent a Vacation Apartment in Scotland. |

| The Rough Guide to Scotland (Rough Guide Travel Guides) (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"It is an almost-perfect guide, simply trust it and go. It is really reliable, even too much detailed if you're visiting Scotland for the first time. I've bought plenty of guides, but I only broght the Rough with me in UK. The only problem with me was that it has clearly been written for the british traveller. I would suggest the author to help foreign readers in finding out those "best scottish pubs" that can also serve good food." Before renting a Vocation or Holiday Apartment in Scotland, I would read this book. "A thoroughly recommended reference; proved very useful to me in recent trips to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Since returning I have taken the time to read the other chapters, such is the quality of writing on each region of the country. Section on Edinburgh is particularly good for choosing what to see and what not to when staying for only a short time. As with all Rough Guides, the social, cultural and historical background is excellent, although the book's near obsession with awful commercial Gaelic rock group Runrig proves a little tiresome! This a tiny niggle to what was the only book I needed on holiday this summer." If you are thinking about renting a Vacation Cottages in Scotland, I would buy this book to take with you while in Scotland. "I would thoroughly recommend this book for anyone travelling to Scotland. It covers all major cities and has a real understanding of off the beaten track places, that are so often missed by the major guides. From Loch Tummel in the Highlands to the Barralands in Glasgow, the Guide has it all." www.HomeIsAway.com great Holiday Cottage to Rent in Scotland. "I took 3 books to Scotland -- Rough Guide, Frommer's, Fodor's (all 2004) and this was clearly the best. It was bigger and had more detail than the other's which was very useful when travelling 2200 miles around the country and wondering what there was to do or where to eat while in transit between planned stops. Rough Guide had lots of interesting things to do and places to visit in areas where the other two books had nothing. Fodor's and Frommer's tended to be more opinionated which was sometimes useful and I did find a good accommodation from Fodor's one night, but if I was only to take one book, it was clearly Rough Guide." Why not buy this book, and read while on your Holiday in Scotland. It would be so usefull when you Rent a Holiday Villa in Scotland. "This was my fourth Rough Guide, and was perhaps the best of them all. It contains an incredible amount of detail on all sorts of historical monuments, large and small. This guide helped make my trip to Scotland perhaps the best of my vacations. Highly recommended." If you are thinking about renting a Vocation or Holiday Villas in Scotland, I would buy this book to take with you while in Scotland. |

| Lonely Planet Scotland (Lonely Planet Country & Regional Guides) (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"This lonely planet book provides quite good coverage with maps, especially if you're an independent traveller, but still need some info. (although it's a bit out-of-date)" If you are thinking about renting a Alternative Holiday Apartments in Scotland, I would buy this book to take with you while in Scotland. "We own a guest house in Stonehaven, Scotland and my motivation for purchasing this book was to put it in the Guest's Lounge as a resource for tourists to the area. Unfortunately, for a book that is supposed to be specialising in Scotland, found it a bit lacking in coverage. Even the Rough Guide to Britain (which has 4 countries to cover) managed to get the attractions in and around Stonehaven in! (e.g. Harbour, Dunnottar Castle, Birdwatching etc). I'm off to purchase Scotland - The Rough Guide. Hopefully it'll be more useful for our guests... S&y" A wealth of information about Scotland, a great book if you are thinking about renting a Alternative Vacation Alternative Vacation property in Scotland. "I found the Lonely Planet guide to be an excellent resource, especially when used with the Baedeker Scotland guide. LP offers truly helpful information, such as where to find maps, how to get back your VAT, weather and insect warnings... as well as brief but very descriptive chapters by region, including the oft-neglected Highlands. Suggested itineraries are included, and the descriptions of sights, towns and historical destinations is wonderful. While the guide is short on maps and history -- this is where the Baedeker guide does an excellent job -- it is full of useful and up-to-date information on travelling Scotland. I found my copy to be incredibly resourceful." Before renting a Vacation Villa in Scotland, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in Scotland. "Lonely planet books are usually a good companion both if you're clueless or experienced. In this case however, the book is a lot thinner than the Rough Guide for Scotland and offers less information. The LP looks better, but who cares about the looks of a travel book." If you are thinking about renting a Alternative Vacation Apartments in Scotland, I would buy this book to take with you while in Scotland. |

| Scotland (Eyewitness Travel Guides) (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"As usual a ver well laid out, glossy and colourful travel guide. I specially found the travellers guide section useful at the back of this book, as it tells you about all the local practicalities, such as banks, telephones etc. The food section is also very good with lots of pictures of the types of food you are likely to find on your trip." www.HomeIsAway.com great Alternative Holiday Villa to Rent in Scotland. |

| The Flying Scotsman: Biography of Eric Liddell (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"The book "the Flying Scotsman" is about the Scotish Olympic athlete Eric Lidell, who chose not to run in 100 meter race because it was on a Sunday. This book shows how Eric's faith was very important in his life. It is about more than his Olympic experience, but about his life, especially as a missionary. This is an excellent book to read. It is very inspiring." www.HomeIsAway.com great Vacation Villa to Rent in Scotland. "Many of our sports-crazed world would do well to study and emulate this great man. From the classic Chariots of Fire movie, I wanted to see how Hollywood handled this accurately. From Magusson's research, certainly one can see from actual photos that Liddell was not as thin or attractive as Ian Charleston. Also to my great disappointment, Jason, the American sprinter, never gave Liddell the Scripture verse right before the race. Interesting sidelight to this is that in 1988 Olympics all but 2 of 19 Israeli athletes refused to compete on the Yom Kippur celebrative day. This is wonderful read. Do not know how this relates to other works on Liddell as I'm just discovering them to find out." www.HomeIsAway.com great Holiday Apartment to Rent in Scotland. "This book portrays the details of this celebrity's daily life through his journals, letters, personal interviews, and the writings of those who knew him. They describe a faithful man of God who didn't prize religiosity or overly pious appearances. Instead, he modeled Jesus' character of love and kindness with his own humor, wit, and laid-back nature. Great book for all who wish to see how the Christian life is lived out amidst the daily grind." | Eric Liddell: Pure Gold: A New Biography of the Scottish Olympic Hero and Missionary to China (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"McCasland's biography of Liddell is the best biography of Liddell yet. A clear presentation of one of the most exemplary, honest and sincere Christians to walk the earth. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to about true Christian living, lived by the example of the Olympic hero turned missionary, who, while loved and revered by the Chinese, got martyred at the hands of Japanese imperialism. Eric Liddell remains an example of Christian living to the world." Before renting a Vacation Villa in Scotland, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in Scotland. "I had always admired Eric Liddell from what I knew of his story from the movie "Chariots of Fire." This thoroughly researched and well-written account of his entire life (only a couple of chapters focus on the time surrounding the '24 Olympics) moved me to tears several times. He lived an honest and committed life--one that is inspirational for those of us coming after him. I highly recommend this book." This book has best information about Scotland.
