"We recently made our first trip to Mauritius, armed with a number of travel guides. Lonely Planet's guide was consistently helpful: we knew what to expect, and were provided with a series of tips to get the most from every place we visited.

We had also used it to decide which hotel to stay in before making the trip, and again, it helped us make the right decision according to our budget.

There aren't many photos in the book, which is my only criticism, and is the only reason we felt it necessary to buy other guides - a picture speaks a thousand words, after all. "Two summers ago we went into Seychelles, and Mauritius,Reunion& Seychelles LP travel guide was essential for us. Thanks to it, we could discover Seychelles was not just a diving and incredible beaches paradise, but its interiors landscapes were the best of our journey. We recomend it,because its fantastic information about Mahe,Praslin and La Digue islands, their national parks (such as Sainte Anne or Vallee de Mai). Prices were as high as the author wrote! and all information about public buses, rent-a-car and restaurants was right. Just one thing, we couldn't find where La Gogue Reservoir was! "I can't comment on the other parts to this book, but the Seychelles section is spot on! Excellent overview, great pictures and informative on almost everything Seychellois!

Only let down is the index at the back which lists restaurants, hotels, guest houses etc. The authors/publishers could do better than lump all 3 countries listings in the same section. "This map is useless. It looks impressive, but bears no relation to what the roads actually do on the Island. Often roads that look minor on the map are major in reality (and vice versa). Roads often require a definite left or right turn just to stay on them, whereas on the map it looks as if you just go straight on. Pretty to look at (and large scale) but the small scale throw away car rental maps are more accurate. Airport area is completely misleading and has obviously been completely changed since map was published. Save your money!"
