This beautiful villa, in the little mountain village of Loutra, 10 km from Rethymnon, has been built with great style. There is a 25sqm swimming pool, and the villa is suitable for up to 14 people, with 6 bedrooms, 5 of which have twin bed   s and one of which has a double bed. There are 6 shower rooms with WC, most of which are en-suite and a few of these also have a bath. Air conditioning (9 units) is available included in the rate.    There is a paved loggia at the entrance to the main living area, furnished with a large wooden dining table. The house is designed on a series of levels and is composed of an elegant main living area, plus a further uniquely styled variety of self contained en-suite bedrooms and apartments leading off the courtyard and off upper verandas.    The main living area is split level, and has a stone fireplace, a baby grand piano, and comfortable sofas. On a raised level to one side is a modern fully equipped kitchenette and a small elegant dining area. A pretty tiny patio leads off the kitchen, and there is a full bathroom/WC leading off from the dining area. From the first floor terrace there is a narrow wrought iron staircase leading up to a really beautiful split level roof terrace with latticed wood surround, ideal for relaxing in the sun. The roof terraces offer attractive views all around, across to the sea in the distance, over rooftops and old village houses. Due to the village and the nature of the old buildings around, not all of the terraces of Villa are entirely private. The house is also not suitable for those with mobility difficulties but the terraces of the villa have been designed with the safety of children in mind.    The nearest beach can be found at a distance of 3 km. There are some village mini-markets and tavernas, within walking distance, and there is a bus service to Rethymnon, but we consider car hire to be essential.    9 units of aircondition + fireplace + the big walls make WINTERHOLIDAYS easily possible !!   t

This large stone house, and a 33 sqm swimming pool has been built on solid rock within the traditional village of Eleftherna. The lofty hillside position of the house provides outstanding panoramic views across the mountainous landscapes, the scattered village houses and to the sea in the distance.   The house, which is built on three floors, is approx. 250sqm in size, and suitable for up to 10 people. The main entrance is reached by a flight of stone steps, leading up to the living/dining area with stone arch and open plan kitchenette. From the kitchen one reaches a spacious balcony with views. Throughout the villa there are wooden floors, beamed ceilings, and traditional furnishing. The seating area is equipped with a TV, and a stone fireplace for cooler evenings. On this level, beneath the wooden staircase, there is a WC. The staircase leads to a spacious double bedroom with small ensuite shower/WC. French doors lead to a sun terrace with views (not suitable for small children). Off the living/dining area a steep wooden staircase leads down to a further three bedrooms (two triple and one double). One of the triple bedrooms has a balcony with access to the pool via two short flights of stairs. The double bedroom has its own covered balcony with views of the surrounding area. Further to this there is a shower/WC and a bath/WC with washing machine. In the little gardens at the side there is a barbecue area with a Cretan stone oven.   There are two tavernas in the village, and kafenion approx. 200 metres away. The nearest sandy beach, and further tavernas and shops can be found in Stavromenos, at a distance of approx. 12km (here you find the shops open also at the weekend).All other shopping possibilities you will find in the small town of Perama in about 8 km distance. This is a historic area with archaeological sites, and a Roman water cistern nearby. For those who enjoy walking there is a superb 2-hour hike from Eleftherna to the famous Monastery of Arkadi.   Rates

There is a mini market at some 500 metres from the villa, and the nearest taverna can be found at 900 metres. More tavernas and shops can be found in the villages of Georgioupolis and Argiroupolis, at a distance of 5 km, and the town of Rethymno is 13 km away. A short drive out of Rethymno into the hills behind the town will bring you to the small village of Atsipopoulo, where this lovely group of 10 apartments and 4 studios have been built, next to an old venetian house and a beautiful church.   The apartments are mostly arranged over two floors with a nice spiral staircase connecting the floors, and are decorated with colorful prints on the wall, wicker furniture, cosy soft furnishings and pretty pieces of traditional Cretan pottery are scattered artfully about and with air-conditioning the interiors are light and airy.    Breakfast, a buffet of cheese, olives, fruits, bread, honey, homemade jam and much more, is served in a lovely, bright air-conditioned room which is reached down steps leading off from the reception.   The tiled courtyard is filled with trees, flowers and an inviting swimming pool in the centre, with deckchairs arranged around it.   There is also a communal roof terrace, shaded with vine, where you can take in the vista over the rooftops of the village and countryside to the sea below.   Atsipopoulo has three local tavernas within walking distance, and one which is just 50 m away. They will deliver food on request. There is also a mini-market in the village for basic supplies.    Typical small landhouses,with 2 yards like it has been tradition, restaurated with a lot of knowledge and very well equiped,with a pool in one of the yards, in the real + typical village, 5 km up from the small town of Rethymnon. They are 75sqm in size and can each accommodate 4-5 people. Steps lead up to the front door and into the open plan living area, with sofa bed and central air conditioning unit (included in the price). There is also a kitchenette having a full size cooker, fridge/freezer and a marble dining table.
