A traditional Catalan-style house on the outskirts of Amelie les Bains, near the medieval village of Palalda, which has a museum, a church which is over 1,000 years old and an equestrian centre. You can reach Palalda by crossing the footbridge over the river near the house.      On the ground floor there are three bedrooms (one with a queen size bed, one with a standard double bed and one with two single beds); a 24 ft living room with open fireplace; a kitchen/diner and a bathroom with a bath/shower, double washbasin, bidet and separate WC. There is a guest toilet and washbasin off the hall. The kitchen is fully equipped with a Siemens oven and hob, a Bosch fridge-freezer and dishwasher and there is also a washing machine and a dryer. Upstairs there is another bathroom with a bath/shower, washbasin and toilet and a large attic bedroom with two single beds. There is a covered terrace and an open terrace. The house has French and English TV, a DVD player and a BBQ in the garden. Hairdryer provided.Amelie les Bains-Palalda is in the foothills of the Pyrenees and is about 30 minutes from Collioure and Argeles on the Mediterrranean coast. It is renowned throughout France for its thermal baths, which are good for rheumatism and many people visit Amelie for “the cure.” Tourists come for the mountain walks, cycling and canoeing as well as riding. Amelie has a swimming pool, tennis courts, shops and restaurants, as does Ceret, which also has a Modern Art Museum. Or drive to Spain, through the Pyrenees or on the autoroute. Figueres, with its Salvador Dali Museum, is only 40 minutes away and Dali’s house at Port Lligat on the coast is worth a visit. There are many festivals, carnivals, concerts, markets, etc., in the region throughout the year.             Closest airports are Perpignan (30 minutes) and Girona (about 1 hour). Take the autoroute to Le Boulou and then follow the signs to Ceret, then Amelie les Bains. The house is 4.8 km from Ceret,
