| Lonely Planet Rarotonga and the Cook Islands (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"This book is a must buy if you want to get the most out of yout trip to the cooks. Every point of interest or restaurant worth eating at is in here, you cant afford to go without it." Before renting a Vocation or Holiday Villa in Cook Islands, I would read this book while in Cook Islands. "A must have guide for a must visit place. Impressively thorough with vital information without denying the traveller the opportunity of discovery even on these small islands. Follow the advice that Aitutaki has to be visited." Why not buy this book, and read while on your Vocation or Holiday in Cook Islands. It would be so usefull when you Rent a Vocation or Holiday House in Cook Islands. "We just got back from a two week exploration of the Cooks and found this book VERY helpful. The Cooks will quickly convince you that if you've only been to Hawaii, you've only gone half way to Heaven! Unfortunately, we required hospital services (because of tainted food), and this book over simplifies issues of needed medical care. (Details that should be included in EVERY travel guide!) Naturally, most prices quoted are actually higher, but that's just dealing with reality. We observed "newbies" arriving without this book, and therefore, without a clue of where to go or what to do. FOUR Stars because this book was so valuable, but as with most, there is room for improvement." Relax with this book when on Vacation in Cook Islands. It would be so handy when you Rent a Vacation Apartment in Cook Islands. "If you are headed out to the Cook Islands (absolutely fabulous, beautiful place to visit), you MUST bring this book with you. I cannot recommend this highly enough." This book has fantastic information on Cook Islands, well worth reading if you renting a Vacation House in Cook Islands. "Having recently returned from the Cook Islands, I cannot highly recommend this book. While the history and culture sections are interesting, the lodging and shopping/restaurants sections leave a lot to be desired. Most of the businesses mentioned have either gone out of business or changed hands. This is especially true on Aitutaki, where only one of the businesses recommended was still in its present form! As another reader recommended, the book does not sufficiently cover home rentals which are a great way to stay on these islands for a reasonable amount (and most can be viewed and reserved on the internet!). David Stanley's Moon Handbooks South Pacific guide is a much better choice--it is more up to date and covers all the major South Pacific islands for almost the same amount of money." This book has wonderfull information about Cook Islands. So take it with you when you Rent a Vacation Cottage in Cook Islands. |

| Moon Handbooks Tahiti: Including the Cook Islands (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"An excellent guide to the islands of French Polynesia. We used it during the planning stages to pick our resorts and research the activities we might be interested in in Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. Each day we were there, the book helped us plan our activities and learn more about the islands and what they had to offer. The island and Papeete city maps were of great use finding our way around. The book covers all islands of French Polynesia and the Cook Islands. I enjoyed reading about all the others we didn't visit. Will definitely take this our next trip down. Highly recommended." Why not buy this book, and read while on your Vocation or Holiday in . It would be so usefull when you Rent a Vocation or Holiday Villa in . "David Stanley has a wealth of personal knowledge of the South Pacific, and it shows. This comprehensive guide to French Polynesia, Rapanui, and Cook Islands is a must for anyone planning to travel to these exotic tropical paradises. Covering everything from history to present day conditions, from the practicalities of getting there to getting around, he tells it like it is. No matter your preffered travelling style, there is a wealth of realistic information to please everyone, from backpackers to luxury seekers alike. | Australia and New Zealand by Campervan And/Or Car with Stopovers in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Hawaii, (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"This is nice little book, but it is not at all what the description led me to believe it was and it is certainly not worth the cost. This is not a true guidebook at all. Rather, it is a very brief (only 128 pages total, with wide margins on all 4 sides of the page) account of the Hostrop's personal travel experiences with little tidbits of advice tossed in. I have visited Australia twice and am planning a third trip, which is why I purchased this book. It will not be of use to me in planning my next trip, nor do I believe it would have been especially useful in planning my previous trips, even though my last trip was made in part in a campervan. I also found the repeated urgings to make use of Newmans (a travel agency) a bit disconcerting. Was the Hostrops' trip underwritten by Newmans? My advice: spend your money on the Frommer's and Lonely Planet guides. They will be much more useful." Before renting a Vocation or Holiday Villa in , I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in . "Though my wife and I had a general guide to Australia and New Zealand, surprisingly, we felt that the Hostrops' book gave all the sightseeing information needed as most sites also had their own detailed literature. We appreciated the emphasized suggested itinerary given which took us to the most important sites and to the excellent recommended lodgings and campgrounds. We also appreciated the excellent information on the "free" stopover islands. On the way over, we stopped in the Cook Islands and on the way back we stopped in Tahiti. This a gem of a book which goes to the heart of what independent travelers need for a most enjoyable journey to Australia and New Zealand. Highly recommended for independent travelers." | What Einstein Told His Cook: Kitchen Science Explained (Book)Customer Rating: Reviews:
"I was hoping this book would be better than it was. I anticipated curious kitchen trivia that would astonish and befuddle, I found commonplace definitions and run-the-mill advice. This book has nice solid information but it is nothing that will knock the socks of any self-respecting well-read foodie. If you cook a lot you'll likely know all the scintilating explanations Wolke has to share with you. The book is well written but aiming for a lower level of audience than I expected. A good gift for a very new foodie who has just discovered the culinary craft." www.HomeIsAway.com great Vocation or Holiday House to Rent in Cook Islands. "If you know absolutely no chemistry, have never read a cookbook, and have no powers of observation, you might like this book as a just-about-adequate introduction. But for a better-written, more interesting start on kitchen chemistry, try Arthur Grosser's "The Cookbook Decoder" or Hillman's book (sorry, can't remember the title)or "The Inquisitive Cook by Anne Gardiner and Sue Wilson. Then move right on to McGee. The rest is history!" If you are thinking about renting a Alternative Vacation Properties in Cook Islands, I would buy this book to take with you while in Cook Islands. "According to the reviewer Ramanujam Rajagopal (Seattle, WA United States):
"If you have a college education and a sense of humor that transcends pop culture, I suggest you look elsewhere for good reading."
I do have a college education: undergrad Cornell/grad school MIT. I also have a marvelous sense of humor.
I thought the book was extremely well done. Not perfect, but heck, neither am I." Before renting a Alternative Vacation Apartment in Cook Islands, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in Cook Islands. |
