Madeira: The Mini Rough Guide (Miniguides S.) (Book)

Customer Rating:
Reviews:

"Has all the useful features of a good travel guide and is a nice handy size (smaller than A5 so fits most pockets). Shame there aren't more pictures. Only concern was that the text hasn't been updated more recently, but maybe that says more about Madeira than Rough Guides!" A wealth of information about Austria, a great book if you are thinking about buying a Vacation Vacation property in Austria.

Lonely Planet Austria (Lonely Planet Country & Regional Guides) (Book)

Customer Rating:
Reviews:

"Lonely Planet is a great guide book series, and this book no exception. Offering important travel basics, details on destinations, and fascinating bits of trivia, it is a perfect guide for a vacation in Austria." Before buying a Alternative Holiday Property in Austria, I would read this book.

"This handy guide leads you to the discovery of the splendid Alpine views dominating great part of the Austrian territory, and which attracts visitors both in summer and in winter. You read about Vienna, Salzburg and the other main cities, with hundreds of addresses for restaurants, cafés and taverns. You also get an illustrated section on Austrian architecture, as well as 50 detailed maps. You can't go wrong with this travelling companion." A wealth of information about Austria, a great book if you are thinking about buying a Vacation Vacation property in Austria.

"I'm already a Lonely Planet fan having used the Walking Spain book on 2 trips to N Spain and my son sent me LP Austia for Christmas in an effort to get me to visit him there. Apart from being a good general basic guide with good little maps, its a good read with all the bits of history, background and cameos etc. I tried a lot of the recommended stuff including YOHO. and most of the info. was spot on apart from a couple of budget places to eat which were not. and some of the Bus numbers had changed or were wrong.
Otherwise an excellent book, fits in your pocket so don't go without it." This book has supper information about Austria. So take it with you when you Buy a Holiday Cottage in Austria.

"I've been to Austria COUNTLESS times and have been to all corners and nearly every valley in Austria...I bought this book with the hope that it might help to discover something new....and of course to check on the information on places I have been and been impressed by..... this book is seriously lacking in place to stay and eat in the countryside. It misses out on some of the very lovely and amazing Austrian accommodations and places to eat..either food , ambiance OR location(view).... Bummer...please get a new author lonely planet you really alwyas do a good job." This book has great information about Austria. So take it with you when you Buy a Alternative Holiday Cottage in Austria.

"There is no doubt this author has travelled extensively through Austria. His writing is richly detailed and down to earth. He doesn't just tell you what's there, he gives you additional insights and opinions which help you decide whether or not you want to spend your time going to a particular castle or place. I felt like I was taking along a personal tour guide. I was so impressed, I've bought 3 more Lonely Planet books, 2 of which are also written by this author." Before buying a Vocation or Holiday Property in Austria, I would read this book while in Austria.

The Rough Guide to Vienna (Rough Guide Travel Guides) (Book)

Customer Rating:
Reviews:

"As a resident of Vienna for the past three years, and previously sceptical of most guides, it was interesting to check up on whether Rob Humphreys really knew his stuff. I was not disappointed and actually quite impressed with his in depth knowledge of the city and all its subtle nuances. This book is packed with the sort of information any discerning visitor to Vienna would need. The historical, social, and cultural commentaries are spot on, up-to date and accurate. More importantly, though, he knows his bars and restaurants which for any traveller has to be the standard at which all credible knowledge is based. Each recommendation is evidence that Humphreys has not only been to the city but that he found the time to unearth the non-touristy parts of the city and the places to go and enjoy real Viennese life. What more can I say but, surprisingly excellent!" This book has fantastic information about Austria. So take it with you when you Buy a Alternative Vacation House in Austria.

"I found this book to be highly valuable in my trip to Vienna. I found the restaurant and hotel descriptions, short, useful, and (at least for the restaurants that I went to) spot-on. The guides to the various sites (Belvedere, Schoenbrunn, etc.) are also informative, and somewhat opinionated, which different readers will find either useful or irritating. All in all, definitely worth the money." www.HomeIsAway.com great Alternative Holiday Cottage to Buy in Austria.

"I bought this book for a 3 day weekend break we were taking and I was disappointed to find a lack of photographs. Indeed, the book is almost (other than the cover and a couple of maps) devoid of any colour at all. The only illustrations are a number of maps of the city which don't really make the grade.
OK, so I may be slightly unfair. The book is absolutely packed with information about every single thing you will come across in Vienna and I did learn some interesting things about the Spanische Reitschule and Hofburg and the Hapsburgs but it's really too much to take in for a short break unless you're really interested in the history of everything in great detail.
If you want to learn a lot about Vienna by reading, buy this book. If you want to find your way around and choose which sites to visit - this isn't the book for you.

Vienna itself is lovely. Clean, quiet and small enough to explore on foot in a few days. Wrap up warm though if you go in March!" A wealth of information about Austria, a great book if you are thinking about buying a Vacation Vacation property in Austria.

"I find the Rough Guide to Vienna not particularly "rough" - except as far as some of the information it contains is inaccurate or outdated. Other than that, it mostly concentrates on the tourist spots and does not even attempt to give readers or visitors the greater picture of things. It's not a bad guide, but it gives you only a very limited picture of what this city is all about. I was quite disappointed.

Buy the TimeOut Guide to Vienna instead." Before buying a Vacation Property in Austria, I would read this book.

"I planned a recent trip to Vienna w/ this guide & it proved indispensable. Sharp, concise, fun & up-to-date - The Rough Guides are the best." Why not buy this book, and read while on your Vocation or Holiday in Austria. It would be so usefull when you Buy a Vocation or Holiday Villa in Austria.

The World of Yesterday (Book)

Customer Rating:
Reviews:

"For me the best book of all times. Zweig "World of Yesterday" is an unforgettable classic, witch should be mandatory in any high school. The best-selling writer in "yesterday world", world of Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Mann and any other great writers, he could be happy that his work is not granted in "today world", world of Harry Potter, and similar books.
This book is much more then autobiography, it's a story of one time, it's a vivid, moving and nostalgic portrayal of Europe before wars, it's a story about intellectual brotherhood witch tried to prevent nationalistic madness that destroyed the Europe and the World, twice.
It is a story about what Zweig calls the "Apocalypse": war, revolutions, inflation, famine, epidemics, emigration, the rise of bolshevism, fascism and the most horrific of all: nationalism.
Zweig commits a suicide after he finished this work (1942), he stay in "World of Yesterday"." www.HomeIsAway.com great Vacation Apartment to Buy in Austria.

"It is one of the best books I have ever read. Unfortunately, some people trying to get some knowledge about the history of that time, are not satisfied with this book. But, it is NOT A HISTORY BOOK.
Zweig is not trying to give information about those times. His observations are not his object but his tools to illustrate his great humanistic messages; and he does this in a very kind and as simple as powerful language." Before buying a Vacation Cottage in Austria, I would read this book.

"Stefan Zweig was a quintessential man of letters whose work and sensibility come to life in this memoir. He was a key participant in European literary culture during the early part of the century, and was a contemporary and colleague of many great writers and thinkers. The book portrays the type of privileged life into which he was born, and poignantly documents the degeneration of his beloved Europe into a state of barbarity.

This book is fascinating as much for what it includes--descriptions of his work, his associations, the events that shaped the time--as for what it does not--any mention of his personal relationships with his wives or with those outside his cultural life. One learns about the man mostly indirectly; this is not a confessional memoir as much as a document of a brilliant man's literary values and intellectual life, and how they were shattered by the destruction of war." Before buying a Holiday Apartment in Austria, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in Austria.

The All-mountain Skier: The Way to Expert Skiing (Book)

Customer Rating:
Reviews:

"It gives a precise idea of what each part of your body should do and feel to make the skis do what you want. It also says what you can expect from your skis on different terrains. The section on choosing and fixing your equipment is also very valuable. The book is also very reach of small tips that can play the difference in difficult situations." Relax with this book when on Vocation or Holiday in Austria. It would be so handy when you Buy a Vocation or Holiday Cottage in Austria.

"This book is at the top of the list for the thoughful learner. The text and the excellent illustrations explain a variety of techniques that skiers must have to freeski with confidence. Skiing well in all conditions, all over the mountain, involves applying the appropriate technique to the situation. For the advancing skier, it is frequently a matter of recognizing the variety of situations the mountain presents and trying the techniques. That's what this book is about. I bought this book a few years ago. I lost it and have missed it ever since. I'm buying it again and giving a copy to a friend." Before buying a Vacation Villa in Austria, I would read this book while in Austria.

"The All Mountain Skier by Mark Elling is the best manual I have read. It tackles the problems faces by the second year skier wishing to become advanced. I have been taking lessons and was told to do allsorts of movements that I did not understand. This book puts those movements into perspective. On smooth piste at low speed they were unnecessary, at speed on rough and powder they become fundamental.

I practice on a dry slope. Whilst reading the book I became an advanced skier overnight. All the things had been taught in training now made sense. Because I now understood why, I was able to identify the different elements and embody them in my technique.

There is an effective section on equipment.

I owe a lot to Mr Elling. He has saved me a fortune in tuition. This book is not for the raw beginner but as soon as you know that you want to ski beyond the intermediate level buy the book and grow into it. Thanks Mr Elling, I hope this sells some more for you." Before buying a Vacation Casa in Austria, I would buy this book to guide you round the local areas in Austria.

"The illustrations and the techniques in this book are very easy to follow. I personally like the sections on steep skiing and moguls.

This book may be the second best to private instructions. However, I would say that the book may be more beneficial to an intermediate to advanced skier who would like to improve one's skills." Why not buy this book, and read while on your Vacation in Austria. It would be so usefull when you Buy a Vacation Apartment in Austria.
